The Big Ten Conference dates the 2026 football championship weekend as the end of a longer run. Its own championship notice states that the game will cap nearly two weeks of Big Ten action in and around Indianapolis, beginning with the inaugural Big Ten Volleyball Tournament from 20 to 25 November 2026 at Fishers Event Center.
The game is 5 December at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kickoff is 8 p.m. ET on FOX. The volleyball tournament opens on Friday 20 November and closes on Wednesday 25 November. Fifteen days separate that opener from the kickoff, and the two tournament dates stand at Fishers Event Center rather than downtown.
Three Dated Blocks
The conference's own material carries three dated blocks. The volleyball tournament from 20 to 25 November at Fishers Event Center. The Fan Fest presented by Dr Pepper at the Indiana Convention Center, dated Friday 4 December and Saturday 5 December by the conference and 5 to 6 December by the convention centre's own record, with 200,000 square feet or more given to it. The championship game on 5 December.
Nine days fall between the volleyball close on 25 November and the Fan Fest opening on 4 December. Neither the convention centre's feed nor the stadium's feed carries the volleyball tournament.
The Compressed Window on the Stadium Calendar
The stadium's dated feed covers 1 November 2026 to 1 February 2027. Between the Colts games of 29 November and 26 December it lists one event, the championship game on 5 December at 20:00. Six days separate the Giants game from the title game. Twenty-one days separate the title game from the Bengals game.
The venue's August sheet, stamped 3 August 2026, forecasts 70,000 for the game and 70,000 for the Fan Fest. It rows the Keurig Dr Pepper Pre-Game at 1,000 on 12/05 and an American Association of College of Nursing event at 200 on 12/02.
The Clock a Day-Use Operator Works With
The venue page for the game publishes the day's clocks. The South Parking Lot opens at 8 a.m. for ADA parking. The ticket office opens at 4 p.m. The gates open at 6 p.m. The event window runs to 11:59 p.m.
The convention centre calls its own closing and opening times event-dependent and gives a rule of thumb on its skywalks page: lock down in the evening at approximately 11 p.m. and reopening in the morning at approximately 6 a.m. The rule covers the facility and the skywalks together.
Saturday 5 December carries the fan festival and the game on one date. The block between the venue's 8 a.m. lot opening and its 6 p.m. gate is the daytime window of that date.

What the Rate Page Shows for the Months
Engine's Indianapolis page gives a city average of $128 a night across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. November reads $122 and December reads $112. February is the cheapest month in the table at $107, and May the dearest at $158.
The Engine figures are par rates, the cheapest public price at the moment of each search, and the page covers searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in. The page prints no price for either event night.
What the Two Nights Carry
The fan festival opens on the Friday and runs into the Saturday, and the game kicks off at 8 p.m. on the Saturday. Those two dates hold the published clocks for the weekend. The volleyball tournament that opens the run sits at Fishers Event Center, which the conference places around Indianapolis rather than at the stadium or the convention centre.
