Five days, one pool and a daytime middle
The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships run Tuesday 9 to Saturday 13 March 2027 at the IU Natatorium, 901 West New York Street, Indianapolis. The field is 380 participants on the NCAA's 2026-27 Important Updates memo: 175 men and 205 women, 157 and 183 swimmers with 18 and 22 divers.
The published clocks that bracket each day come from the 2026 participant manual, stamped Central time for the Evansville edition. Swim preliminaries began at 10 a.m., dive preliminaries at 1 p.m. and swim and dive finals at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. The 2026 Tuesday carried registration from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the diving qualification meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the 800-yard freestyle relay at 6 p.m.
Seven and a half hours sit between the 10 a.m. preliminaries and the 5:30 p.m. finals. That middle is the day's open stretch at the venue, and a day-use room sells the same window.
The day-use inventory on the corridor
Dayuse lists an average price of $87.43 for a day room in Indianapolis and names Quality Inn & Suites Southport as its recommended hourly hotel in the city. hotelSlots' Indianapolis directory reads 273 hotels available to compare and request rates, against 123 hotels to choose from in its own body copy, with 24 of the 273 shown on the first page. The directory's copy names short conferences at the Indiana Convention Center and flight layovers as the day-use cases.
The downtown count behind the campus address is 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis with 4,700 connected to the Indiana Convention Center by skywalk, on the Convention Center's attendee hotels page. Visit Indy's meeting-hotels page counts 34,000 rooms in the metro area and more than 8,300 downtown with more than 3,000 in the pipeline.
Four nights and one midweek arrival
A Tuesday arrival and a Saturday departure bills four nights, 9 through 12 March. Holding the Saturday night adds a fifth night and a Sunday departure. The last two competition days fall on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March.
Work Truck Week takes the Indiana Convention Center 9-12 March on the organiser's own site and 10-12 March on the venue's feed, covering the first three nights. A hotel selling daytime inventory that week has one citywide event in the convention center and one national meet on the campus corridor at the same time.
The February run into the week
The Natatorium's own calendar, stamped 9/2/2026, lists four February 2027 bookings ahead of the March championship. The Jaguar Aquatics Winter Invitational runs 5-7 February, the IHSAA Girls Swimming and Diving Championships 12-13 February, the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships 17-20 February and the IHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Championships 26-27 February. Three of the four are championship meets, and they close on three weekends inside 27 days. Ten days separate the last of them from the D-II open.
What a day-use booking cannot match yet
No 2027 session clock is published. The NCAA's Important Updates memo states that the Prechampionships Manual, which carries the session detail, posts on ncaa.org by mid-November. A day-use slot cannot be matched to a preliminaries session or a finals session until that manual lands. The same memo dates the diving qualification meet to Tuesday 9 March at the IU Natatorium.
The next booking in the building after the championship is the USA Swimming Speedo Sectional Championships on 18-21 March, five days after the close.
The block the last edition carried
The 2026 team hotel document is the only published block. Per-property blocks ran from 5 to 40 double/doubles a night across the 8 to 14 March 2026 window, at rates from $115.00 to $159.00 and a cut-off of Monday 2 March 2026 at 5 p.m. local time. No 2027 block, rate, cut-off date or housing bureau appears on the championship page.
