The 35th Heartland Film Festival runs 8 to 18 October across six Indianapolis venues. The festival's ticketing platform returned 317 dated events at a 25 September 2026 read. 261 name a venue and 260 sit inside the eleven festival days. The preview screening sits on 7 October.
125 of the 260 in-window entries start before 5 p.m. The first start on each date falls between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on ten of the eleven days. Thursday 8 October opens at 6:30 p.m. with one entry.
The four midweek days
Monday 12 October through Thursday 15 October holds 85 entries. 36 of them start before 5 p.m. and 49 start at 5 p.m. or later. The evening load runs 13, 12, 13 and 11 across the four nights.
The earliest midweek start is 12 p.m. on Thursday 15 October. The latest midweek finish is 9:36 p.m. on Tuesday 13 October. A daytime guest on those four days has a published start, a published release and an afternoon gap before the evening programme.

Badge collection runs at three venues over ten dates. The desks sit at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at The Square, Living Room Theaters and Indy Art Center.
The earliest desk opens at 11 a.m. The latest desk closes at 8 p.m. Screenings on 16 October run to 10:14 p.m. at Kan-Kan Cinema. The published daytime window for a booking runs from the 11 a.m. desk opening to the 4 p.m. mixer.
A filmmaker mixer runs at the Hot Rod Bar at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema from 4 to 6 p.m. on eight dates and from 4 to 5 p.m. on 11 October.
The day-use rate the market publishes

The shape of the run
Thursday 8 October carries one entry. Friday 9 October carries 22. Saturday 10 October carries 33 and Sunday 11 October carries 29. Saturday 17 October carries 38 and Sunday 18 October carries 23.
Seven entries read SOLD OUT in the event name. The list covers the 7 October preview, Opening Night: JIMMY on 8 October, Method to the Madness on 9 October, Gentle Monster on 12 October, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York and Union County on 17 October, and Closing Night: The Debut on 18 October.
Sunday 18 October clears at 7:45 p.m. with the Closing Night screening at Newfields, and it is the only date in the run that finishes before 9 p.m. The Awards Brunch runs from 10:30 a.m. that morning at Tinker House Events.
