IHG's 2,000 Australian Keys and the Daytime Read

IHG committed at least 15 Staybridge Suites hotels and 2,000 rooms in Australia with ALAND. The release carries no hourly rate, no daytime window and no day-use line.

2,000 Australian keys and no daytime product

IHG Hotels & Resorts committed at least 15 Staybridge Suites hotels and a minimum of 2,000 rooms in Australia under a Master Development Agreement with developer ALAND, signed on 10 September 2026. The first two franchise agreements cover the 130-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Parramatta and the 112-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington. Signature Hotel Management Group will manage both hotels.

The release carries no hourly rate, no daytime window and no day-use inventory line for either property.

What the format sells

Staybridge Suites is IHG’s upscale extended-stay brand, designed for guests travelling for days, weeks or longer in residential-style suites. IHG names four demand sources: corporate travellers, project-based work, relocations, and guests seeking flexibility on longer stays.

IHG publishes no nightly rate, no weekly rate, no minimum-stay term and no daytime window for either hotel.

The three published Australian sites

IHG has named three Australian properties under this partnership: Parramatta, Leppington and the open voco Gosford inside ALAND’s Archibald precinct. None of the three carries a published hourly rate or a daytime slot in IHG’s material, and ALAND’s own material carries the development pipeline.

The market the keys enter

Tripolone told the Australian Financial Review that Sydney’s occupancy rate and tighter supply drove the starting market, and he named Brisbane and Melbourne as the markets to follow. Travel Daily reported on 17 September 2026 that the first two properties are set to open in 2030 and put the 2,000 keys across a 15-year horizon.

ALAND describes itself as an Australian-owned family business with a development pipeline exceeding 6,500 apartments and a Gold Star iCIRT rating.

What the announcement carries for daytime inventory

The first two hotels are set to open in 2030, per Travel Daily. The commitment carries no day-use rate, no daytime window and no slot count. IHG published no opening rate, no opening date and no cost figure for either franchised hotel, and it has not identified the remaining sites.

Travel Daily headlined the rollout at $1 billion on 17 September 2026 and printed the Leppington hotel at 122 keys against IHG’s published 112.
