A nine-suite lodge returns in August 2027
&Beyond will rebuild Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp and reopen the property as &Beyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge in August 2027. Travel Daily reported the programme on 16 October 2026.
The operator's lodge page carries the new name with a Reopening August 2027 line beneath it. The property changes from camp to lodge along with the building work.
The programme gives the reopening month and no day inside it.
The concession runs to 90,500 hectares
Xaranna occupies a concession of 90,500 hectares in the Okavango Delta. The same area comes to 223,630 acres.
The Delta holds UNESCO World Heritage Site status. The operator's copy calls it one of Africa's most remote and remarkable wild places.
Xaranna overlooks a seasonal lagoon. Channels become floodplains and floodplains become grazing grounds as the season turns, in the operator's own description.
Nine suites and a family suite
The redesigned inventory holds nine suites at 160 sq m each. Every suite takes a private pool inside its own footprint.
A two-bedroom Family Suite adds 404 sq m (4,348 sq ft). The family unit joins the nine suites in the new stock.
The announcement gives no separate pool measurement.
Wellness centre, hammam and hydrotherapy deck
New facilities include a wellness centre, a hammam, a hydrotherapy deck, a fitness area and fresh dining options.
The lodge page describes healing rituals, private decks and spaces that open to the wilderness. It sets expert guiding and Botswana hospitality alongside the wellness programme.
Game drives, mokoro excursions and boat cruises
Guests keep game drives and walking safaris, plus seasonal mokoro excursions, boat cruises and community experiences. Helicopter flights sit on the same list as an optional extra.
Water levels decide which water activities run. The operator describes reed-lined channels that open when the waters allow.
Guided activity runs through the day. The operator points to expert guides, track reading across open ground and the smaller detail of the wild between the large sightings.
Botswana circuit context
Jason King, Managing Director of &Beyond Southern Africa Lodges, tied the rebuild to the country portfolio. “It strengthens our Botswana circuit while offering a distinctly Delta-led perspective that showcases the depth and diversity of the Okavango experience,” he said.
The operator's lodge directory lists four further Botswana entries. Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge and Sandibe and Nxabega Under Canvas sit in the Delta. Chobe Under Canvas sits in Chobe National Park.
The operator sells a Xaranna stay as one leg of a wider Botswana journey. Its travel specialists build itineraries from contrasting Delta habitats to the open horizons beyond the Delta.
The figures the announcement does not carry
The announcement carries no project cost, no building contractor and no closure dates for the camp. It carries no rate card for the reopened lodge, and the lodge page carries no opening offer.
August 2027 appears on the operator's lodge page and in the trade report. No day inside the month is published.
