Indian Hotels Company signed a 122-key hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan, to trade under its Gateway brand. Lords India Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. is the development partner. The project is brownfield. Trade titles carried the announcement on 6 October 2026.
IHCL calls Alwar an emerging leisure destination within reach of the National Capital Region. The company places the signing inside a strategy of entering new destinations.
A brownfield Gateway hotel joins IHCL in Rajasthan
The hotel takes the Gateway flag, the brand IHCL positions in the mid-market and upscale full-service band. Alwar sits in eastern Rajasthan, on the road and rail corridor between Jaipur and Delhi. IHCL has published no site area, no star rating and no franchise term with the announcement.
One hundred and twenty-two keys in the Aravalli hills
The property sits within the Aravalli hills. The announcement gives the hotel panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. IHCL has not published a room mix, a suite count or a floor count for the building.
An all-day diner, a specialty restaurant and a bar
Three food and beverage outlets are named. They are an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant and a bar. The wellness set covers a swimming pool, a fitness centre and a spa. No outlet name, no seating count and no spa size is published.
More than 9,000 square feet for weddings and meetings
Banqueting space runs to more than 9,000 sq ft, per the announcement. IHCL also lists versatile meeting rooms beside it. The company has published no hall-by-hall capacity table and no largest-room figure.
Suma Venkatesh on Alwar and the NCR catchment
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate and Development at IHCL, tied the signing to the location. “With its rich cultural heritage and proximity to NCR, Alwar is emerging as an ideal getaway for travellers seeking nature, wildlife and heritage experiences,” she said. She added that the signing aligns with the company's strategy of pioneering new destinations, and named Lords India Entertainment as the partner.
The partner and the owner-side case
Manoj Kumar Chachan, Founder of Lords India Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., gave the owner-side reading. “Alwar's historic charm has immense potential as a leisure destination,” he said. He said the company was delighted to bring the Gateway brand to the region. The announcement names no other investor, no development cost, no architect and no contractor.
Bala Quila, the City Palace and Sariska
The announcement lists the district landmarks the hotel will trade against. They include Bala Quila, also called Alwar Fort, and the City Palace. Natural attractions named are the Sariska Tiger Reserve and Siliserh Lake. IHCL makes no claim about visitor volumes, current room supply or average rates in the district.
Where the hotel sits in IHCL's Rajasthan count
With the addition, IHCL says it will hold 74 hotels in Rajasthan with 32 under development. The company's own release of 19 May 2026 on a Gateway hotel in Bharatpur recorded 67 hotels in the state with 24 under development. That release and this one sit about four and a half months apart. IHCL has published no state-by-state table alongside the Alwar announcement.
The opening date and the terms the announcement leaves open
The announcement reports a signed hotel. The property is not trading. IHCL has published no opening date, no construction start and no handover schedule. The announcement does not say whether the hotel will be managed or franchised, and it sets out no management term.
Two other Alwar signings sit in circulation and are separate projects. IHG signed a 150-key Holiday Inn Resort Alwar in April 2026. IHCL signed a Taj hotel in Alwar district in 2019. Neither is this Gateway property.
