A 67-room Meliá Collection hotel for Rome
The Meliá Collection will open its first Rome property in 2027. Meliá Hotels International signed the project with Gruppo Stay, an Italian hotel company.
The hotel takes 67 rooms on Via XX Settembre. It will hold a restaurant, a bar, a rooftop bar and a wellness area. It runs under a franchise agreement.
The two partners' third project
The signing is the third between Meliá and Gruppo Stay. The first two are Auronzo Dolomites Affiliated by Meliá and Pozza di Fassa Dolomiti Affiliated by Meliá.
Gabriel Escarrer, chairman and chief executive of Meliá Hotels International, said the group enters Rome with Gruppo Stay. Andrea Franceschi, founder and owner of Gruppo Stay, said the project expands the company's urban hospitality work.
What the opening adds
The signing gives Meliá a second hotel in Rome. The group counts 19 hotels open or under development across Italy.
The property adds 67 rooms to central Rome. The release describes Via XX Settembre as a main street in the city, a short distance from Via Veneto.
