Radisson's MENA year, and the inventory it adds
Radisson Hotel Group published a Middle East and Northeast Africa development update in the last days of September 2026. The update covers twelve months of signings, openings and conversions across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. It reports more than 1,500 keys signed in Saudi Arabia.
Elie Milky is the group's Chief Development Officer for the Middle East, Northeast Africa, Greece and Cyprus. The update frames the period around owner confidence and a wider asset mix. It covers urban hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, branded residences and mixed-use projects.
Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom carries 50 Radisson hotels open and under development. The group places Saudi Arabia among its five priority markets and targets 100 hotels in operation and under development there by 2030.
TradeArabia reported in June 2026 that the group had signed more than 1,500 keys in the Kingdom across 2025 and 2026 to date. Its recent openings added more than 1,200 keys across Riyadh, Jeddah and Madinah, and it expected to open close to 1,000 further Saudi rooms.
The UAE additions
Radisson Residences Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi is developed with Royal Development Holding. The group calls it the world's first standalone project under the Radisson Residences brand. Phase Two launched on 21 September 2026 with a third tower and 437 furnished residences, at AED 1.45 billion, per the Emirates Stallions Group release and Gulf Construction.
Radisson RED on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is signed for a 2027 opening with 280 keys. Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences RAK Central was signed in February 2026 with BNW Developments.
Egypt
The update puts the Egypt pipeline at 30 hotels in operation and under development by 2030. No independent record read for this piece carries that number. The group's published regional ambitions name 100 hotels in Saudi Arabia, 150 hotels across the Middle East and 150 hotels across Africa.
Egypt activity is otherwise documented. The group regained scale in the country in 2025 with close to 1,000 keys added to the pipeline. It lists Radisson Resort North Coast, Radisson Collection Resort Marsa Alam for 2027, Radisson Collection Port Phoenice for 2027 and Radisson Serviced Apartments COY Sheikh Zayed City for 2030. Arabia Developments is building a Bungalows North Coast hotel with 250 rooms and 250 branded residences. In August 2026 the group agreed with Al Naser Developments on its first hotel in the New Administrative Capital.
The regional record
The Middle East and Northeast Africa region closed 2025 with 3,200 keys signed and 1,300 rooms opened. The Middle East portfolio passed 100 hotels in operation and under development against a regional ambition of 150 hotels, resorts and serviced apartments by 2030.
Radisson Hotel Group operates more than 1,620 hotels in operation and under development across more than 100 countries. Its first-half 2026 update reported 160 signings and openings totalling more than 22,000 keys.
What the additions carry for day-use operators
A serviced apartment, a resort and a mixed-use project carry the inventory a day-use programme sells. A pool and beach access sell by the day. A serviced apartment sells a workspace by the hour. A resort on a transit route sells a midday room between flights.
The Al Reem Island towers, the Al Marjan Island resort and the serviced-apartment pipeline in Egypt add that inventory to the region. The update publishes no day rate, no hourly rate and no minimum stay for any named project. A day-use programme on these assets starts from the fit-out and the amenity block, and the rate card stays with the operator.
