What Folio and M3 Announced
Folio announced a deepened partnership and an upgraded integration with M3 as its newest associate partner on 17 September 2026, from a Durham, North Carolina dateline. LODGING Magazine carried the release the following day. The two companies launched the integration after a pilot programme, and it is open to mutual customers now.
Folio supplies procurement and accounts-payable software to hotel operators. M3 supplies hotel accounting and financial management software. The integration connects procurement, invoice automation, inventory management and accounting in one workflow, in the release’s description.
What the Integration Moves
The connection syncs a company’s chart of accounts, vendors, companies and properties from M3 and keeps them current. On-property teams order against that data. Accounting teams process invoices and count stock on hand.
Approved invoices and asset balances post from Folio into M3 with the invoice images attached, and journal entries and ledger information synchronise in both directions for reconciliation. The release states that a hotel can be running in 24 hours once M3 provisions access and the property forwards its invoices to Folio.
M3 states it powers more than 150,000 rooms, 9,000 properties and 1,000 owners across North America, with more than 25 years in hotel accounting.
The Coverage List, Line by Line
Folio’s own integration page lists coverage by function. Bills, Suppliers, Journals, Properties and Codings are live. Payments is marked coming soon.
M3 publishes three partner tiers on its partner page: Preferred, Allied and Associate. The page’s Associate tab carries placeholder copy in the served HTML, so Folio’s placement could not be read from that page. M3’s authorised integration list does name AvidXchange, Corpay, Edenred, Inova, Reeco and SIB.
What Folio Puts on Its Own Pages
Folio’s product and solution pages carry the vendor’s own outcome claims. The bills page reads up to 6 per cent saved on purchases, 10-plus hours saved per week, and 100 per cent of spend compliant by design. The operators page reads that invoice administration falls by up to 40 hours a week, and that a team can go live in days.
Those figures are the vendor’s published copy for its own platform. No independent measurement of the M3 integration’s financial outcome was located. The release states the expected benefits as cost savings, less manual work, faster financial processes and better back-office visibility without quantifying them.
What the Release Leaves Open
The release states no financial terms for the partnership, no count of mutual customers and no implementation price for a hotel. The 24-hour setup window is a vendor figure. The payments leg is not shipped, so paying suppliers through the connector cannot be done yet.
Folio announced a $14 million Series A in July 2025 and lists Buy, Bills, Pay, Inventory and Expense as its products, on its own site and press page. Its corporate address is 3600 North Duke St #1197, Durham, North Carolina 27704.
The Day-Use Read
Folio’s coverage list decides which documents cross into M3. A property selling daytime or hourly inventory raises the same supplier invoices as the rest of the house: linens, amenities, pool and gym supplies. The coverage list sets what its finance team still codes by hand.
Neither the release nor Folio’s M3 page names a day-use product, an hourly rate plan or a daytime window. The connector carries purchase documents between two back-office systems, and the rate plan sits in the systems that hold it.
