Sterling opens Regalia Agra 1.4 km from the Taj Mahal

Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited has opened Sterling Regalia Agra, a 36-room hotel 1.4 km from the Taj Mahal. Hospitality Biz India carried the item on 28 September 2026 under the byline HBI Staff | Hyderabad.

The property stands in Tajganj. Sterling's own resort page sets the distance to the monument at 1.4 km. The company said the opening adds Agra to its network of destinations and strengthens its place on the Golden Triangle circuit that links Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

Thirty-six rooms and a fourth-floor pool

Sterling Regalia Agra holds 36 rooms. The release describes a multi-cuisine restaurant, event spaces and leisure facilities. It names its guest mix as leisure and business travellers, couples, families and small groups.

The swimming pool sits on the fourth floor. Sterling's property page states that guests on that level can see the Taj Mahal. A top-floor deck can be set up for private celebrations.

Regalia Spices and the top-floor deck

Regalia Spices is the hotel's 40-cover restaurant. It sits at lobby level and serves Awadhi, Mughlai and Braj cooking alongside international dishes. The restaurant runs buffet and a la carte service.

The release gives no seat count for the banquet area and no size for the deck.

The Golden Triangle and the bleisure read

Vikram Lalvani is Managing Director and CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts. He framed Agra as a depth opportunity. “The Taj brings the world to Agra,” he said.

He tied the opening to the company's Destination Architect strategy. Emerging destinations call for help in creating discovery, he said, and established destinations such as Agra call for deeper engagements that connect into larger travel circuits. He said the hotel strengthens an important node on the Golden Triangle and opens more of Agra to the bleisure traveller.

The owners and the two names

Capt. Brijesh Yadav and Dr. Rekha Yadav issued a joint statement. The release describes them as owners of Taj Regalia. The hotel trades as Sterling Regalia Agra. No separate corporate record for an owning company or hotel under the name Taj Regalia was found, and the release's wording stands.

The owners said their aim was an address that does justice to its location. They said they want guests to remember the hotel for how they experienced Agra while staying there.

Sterling's network

Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomas Cook (India) Limited. Free Press Journal published that attribution on 28 September 2026 and based its report on company exchange filings.

Sterling's catalogue page lists 80 property master names. Sterling Regalia Agra appears among them, and the catalogue carries no other Agra property.

Free Press Journal, Safari India and ET HospitalityWorld reproduced the same Lalvani and Yadav quotes. Those outlets carried one release. The first-party property page is the only non-release check on the figures, and it agrees on the 36 rooms, the 1.4 km distance, the fourth-floor pool and the top-floor deck.

What the day-use platforms show for Agra

The day-use inventory at Regalia Agra sits in three places: the fourth-floor pool, the 40-cover Regalia Spices restaurant and the banquet space.

Neither platform publishes an Agra rate. Dayuse lists 21 destinations on its own footer and carries no India city page. hotelSlots publishes a United States directory and lists no city outside it.

The day rate for this property rests on its own amenity block and on weekday demand in Tajganj. An operator confirms the pool and the restaurant are bookable by the hour before counting either as day-use inventory.
