Anantara Retreat Rabat Signs for a 2030 Opening With 38 Keys

Minor Hotels signed the 38-key Anantara Retreat Rabat with Bloom Holding, the group's first property in Morocco, targeted for an early 2030 opening.

Anantara Retreat Rabat Signed for an Early 2030 Opening

Minor Hotels signed Anantara Retreat Rabat, a 38-key property in Morocco’s capital. The company anticipates an opening in early 2030. Minor Hotels announced the signing with Abu Dhabi-based Bloom Holding, and Hotel News Resource carried the release on 12 October 2026.

The hotel is Minor Hotels’ first property in Morocco. It brings the Anantara brand into the country for the first time. Minor Hotels places the signing inside its expansion across the Middle East and Africa.

The Site in the Diplomatic District

The project is planned for Rabat’s diplomatic area, approximately 20 minutes from the city centre. Rabat is Morocco’s capital, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Bou Regreg River. The release carries no street address for the plot.

Thirty-Eight Keys, Seven of Them Villas

The 38 keys cover guest rooms, suites and seven three-bedroom villas. The release publishes no split across those three categories, so the seven villas sit inside the 38-key total.

The Facilities Behind the Keys

The design is set to combine traditional Moroccan architecture with contemporary interiors. Facilities include a signature restaurant, a Moroccan tea lounge and a swimming pool. The hotel also carries meeting rooms, an Anantara Spa and fitness facilities.

The release describes the property as a 38-key luxury boutique hotel. It names no restaurant operator and no third-party spa brand.

Bloom Holding Develops the Site

Bloom Holding is developing the property. The Abu Dhabi-based developer holds residential, mixed-use, hospitality, education and master-planned community projects in the United Arab Emirates and in international markets. The release names no other partner and no joint-venture structure on the project.

Rabat Is UNESCO World Book Capital for 2026

Rabat holds UNESCO World Book Capital status for 2026. The city’s literary and creative culture is part of the release’s own case for the location.

The National Demand Line

Morocco recorded a 7 percent increase in international tourist arrivals over the first five months of 2026. The release also cites additional international air routes into Rabat.

What the Announcement Leaves Open

The early-2030 window is the only schedule the release publishes. It gives no month and no quarter inside 2030. It also carries no construction start, no development cost, no investment figure and no room rate.

The signing commits the brand and the site. The delivery schedule stays open in the published material.
