Avendra International announced an expansion of its Culinary Innovation Group on 21 October 2026. LODGING Magazine carried the release text under a LODGING Staff byline, dated Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Avendra International is Aramark's group purchasing organization. It sells procurement and supply-chain services to hotels, clubs, leisure attractions, healthcare and education. Avendra's own company-news index, read on 21 October 2026, carried no item on the expansion. Its newest cards were dated 22 September, 27 August and 2 June 2026.
The four service lines
The release sets the group's scope in four blocks. Culinary and operational excellence consulting covers menu development, recipe optimization, food-cost management and trend analysis. Procurement intelligence covers purchasing trends, supplier insights and product availability guidance.
Technology-enabled culinary and procurement innovation covers Hospitality IQ, named in the release as Mosaic AI Supply Chain and Culinary Co-Pilot. Responsible sourcing covers local, inclusive and sustainable sourcing guidance, and the release ties that block to Sourcient.
Menu development and recipe optimization sit with the culinary team. Food-cost management, purchasing trends and supplier availability sit with purchasing. Each block carries a buying output and a kitchen output.
The rationale the release gives
Autumn Bayles, executive vice president, global supply chain and group purchasing organizations at Aramark, supplies the reason. She states that operators balance menu creation, guest preferences, ingredient costs and a dynamic supply chain. She describes the expanded group as bringing culinary and operational expertise, procurement intelligence, responsible sourcing and emerging technologies into one framework to support client growth across global markets.
The title arrives as the release's own attribution. No second source carries it.
Two appointments, and the titles Avendra prints
The release names Paul Carr chief culinary officer for global supply chains and group purchasing organizations at Aramark and Avendra International. It names Paul Bloxham chief culinary officer for Avendra International Europe. It states that both men hold decades of culinary experience and will work together on a connected culinary strategy for clients and brands.
Avendra's own pages carried a different title for each man on 21 October. The US culinary page listed "Paul Carr" as "VP of Culinary Integration, Global Supply Chain & GPOs" beneath a heading that reads "Our Culinary Expert". The European insight pages named Paul Bloxham as "Head of Culinary", in the 2026-27 food and beverage trends guide and in the zero-waste kitchen guide.
Neither Avendra page dates its title line. The release publishes no effective date for either appointment. A buyer holding a contract with either man can ask which title applies to the entity that signed it.
Three product names, one with a page behind it
Sourcient carries an entry on Avendra's company-news index. The card, dated 22 September 2026, describes it as "the newly rebranded evolution of Aramark's Maetadata platform" and as an AI-powered sourcing intelligence solution for responsible sourcing and sustainability reporting.
Hospitality IQ and Mosaic AI Supply Chain appear in the release's technology block as products a client reaches through the group. Culinary Co-Pilot appears there as a broader version of an existing tool. The string Culinary Co-Pilot returned no hit on Avendra's US culinary page on 21 October.
What the release leaves out
No price for any service line, no fee structure, no membership term and no minimum spend.
No named client, no launch property and no count of operators on the expanded group.
No go-live date. The release treats the group as operating already and names no cut-over.
The trade copy stops mid-sentence at "provides greater visibility into purchasing activity and sourcing attributes", with no closing period and no About Avendra block. The page schema records 289 words.
Hotel Management posted an item on the same change on 21 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC. That page answered with a Cloudflare challenge on the day, so the headline and the date are the citable parts.
Three questions for a purchasing team
Ask which entity signs. Aramark, Avendra International US and Avendra International Europe appear inside one paragraph of the release, and the European appointment runs separate from the global one.
Ask for the Culinary Co-Pilot access path in writing. A product named in a release with no page on the vendor's own site carries no published scope, no data-handling note and no stated route to turn it on.
Test the procurement intelligence against your own spend. Purchasing-trend and supplier-availability guidance produces value against a property's purchase history, and the release publishes no sample report and no benchmark set.
What a kitchen can use this month
The culinary consulting block names four outputs, and each has a measurable counterpart in a property: a menu, a recipe cost, a food-cost line and a trend read. Ask the account team for the last twelve months of food-cost work on a property of your size.
The sourcing block names analytics and reporting. A hotel already buying through Avendra can ask whether that reporting now runs on Sourcient and what the reports cover.
