FOG Week: A Midweek Gala and the City's Day-Room Shelf

FOG Design+Art opens its 13th edition with a Wednesday Preview Gala and runs four fair days at Fort Mason. The January convention run, the city rate line and the day-room shelf an operator sells into the week.

The Week the Fair and the Gala Share

FOG Design+Art runs its 13th edition at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027. The Preview Gala opens the week on Wednesday 20 January, with tiered entry from 4 p.m. and a close at 10 p.m.

Fair doors run 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Sunday. San Francisco Art Week, the citywide programme built around the fair, runs its fourth edition from Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 January.

Where the Nights Land

The gala takes a Wednesday. The fair's four nights run Thursday to Sunday, with a Monday 25 January checkout. Five nights from Wednesday 20 to Monday 25 January carry the gala and the whole fair. Start the same stay on Tuesday 19 January and it runs six nights.

Two other bookings sit in the same month on the convention centre's published feed. Specialty Food Association Winter FancyFaire 2027 holds Moscone North and South from 17 to 19 January. The ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium holds Moscone West from 21 to 23 January, sharing its three days with the fair. SPIE Photonics West takes Moscone North, South and West from 30 January to 4 February.

The Day-Room Shelf for the Week

A day room sells the hours around a check-out and a late start. Dayuse's San Francisco page, read on 16 October 2026, lists 20 properties at an average of 120.80 dollars a day room across the page and 128 dollars across the nine that sit inside the city.

The city cards run from 91 dollars at The Mosser Hotel in Yerba Buena to 159 dollars at Taj Campton Place in Union Square. Hotel Caza Fisherman's Wharf reads 107 dollars, the Hilton San Francisco Financial District 116 dollars, Axiom Hotel 122 dollars, Buena Vista Motor Inn 123 dollars, Hotel Zeppelin 138 dollars, Hotel Zelos 144 dollars and Hotel Zetta 152 dollars.

Each card carries its own windows. The Mosser publishes five, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through to 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hotel Zeppelin publishes six. Axiom Hotel publishes three, and the Hilton San Francisco Financial District one.

The city's day-use directory counts 562 properties in San Francisco against 46 states and 103,857 hotels on the same read of 16 October 2026.

The Rate Line Under the Month

Engine's published San Francisco page puts the city average at 165 dollars a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January reads 166 dollars, one per cent above that average. December reads 129 dollars and March 197 dollars, and 35 per cent separates the cheapest month from the priciest.

The publisher states the basis. These are par rates, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search, and not negotiated or booked rates.

The Price Ladder and the Prior Headcount

The gala ladder runs from 300 dollars for a Supporter ticket to 25,000 dollars for a Titanium Circle package. Fair admission runs from 40 dollars for a single day in advance to 115 dollars for a four-day pass in advance.

The gala's prior edition carries the only published headcount for the evening. FOG's release of Thursday 22 January 2026 records more than 2,700 attendees at the 2026 Preview Gala and calls it the highest attendance in the event's history. The 2027 release publishes no headcount.

The fair, its venue, the art week site and SFMOMA's FOG FORUM pages publish no hotel partner, no group rate code and no nightly rate for fair week.
