347 Rooms Beside the Taipei Dome
IHG Hotels & Resorts announced InterContinental Taipei on 12 October 2026. The hotel holds 347 rooms and suites inside the Taipei Dome complex in Xinyi District.
IHG developed the property with Farglory Group. The two partners opened InterContinental Kaohsiung together.
Taiwanese coverage dates the formal opening to 8 October 2026, four days before IHG's announcement. IHG calls the hotel its flagship in Taiwan.
Seven Outlets Across Two Floors
The hotel lists seven food and drink outlets. Two of them carry the name of chef Akira Back.
NTD Eatery serves Italian food on the first floor. Thea Lounge sits beside it with coffee, tea, desserts and an evening cocktail list. Yi Social runs an international buffet on the fifth floor. Rough Cuts grills on the same floor. Simple Sips pours cocktails there from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Akira Back and Dosa by Akira Back hold the second floor. Akira Back serves modern Japanese food. Dosa serves Korean cooking from an open kitchen. Both open in November 2026.
Rooms From 38 Square Metres
Classic Rooms measure about 38 square metres. Selected rooms face Taipei 101. Junior Suites run 43 to 48 square metres.
Residential-style suites start at about 76 square metres. Each carries a full kitchen, a dining area and in-suite laundry. The Presidential Suite measures 202 square metres.
Club InterContinental, a Pool and a Fitness Centre
The hotel holds Club InterContinental, an indoor pool, a fitness centre and event space. The pool opens 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The gym stays open around the clock.
Design follows the theme "In Taipei, For Taipei". The lobby carries an installation, and the event spaces carry musical motifs drawn from the city's architecture and culture.
The Fourth InterContinental in Taiwan
InterContinental Taipei is the fourth property for the brand in Taiwan. InterContinental Kaohsiung opened in 2021, InterContinental Taichung in 2024, and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring in 2025. New Taipei Hot Spring was the brand's first hot spring resort on the island.
IHG and Farglory Group also signed the Hualien Farglory Hotel, Vignette Collection. The opening lands in the year InterContinental Hotels & Resorts marks its 80th anniversary.
Pre-Opening Plans on the Record
Tatler Asia listed about 400 rooms in May 2026 for a planned summer opening. Taipei Times reported Farglory's 2022 intent to run the property under its own brand with 400 guestrooms and four restaurants. The delivered count is 347.
