Terraces at the Drey opens 46 rooms at The Village Dallas

Terraces at the Drey opened on 7 October 2026 inside The Village Dallas, adding 46 rooms and suites to the Drey Hotel through the adaptive use of a former office building.

An office building becomes 46 Dallas hotel rooms

Terraces at the Drey opened to the public inside The Village Dallas. The property announced the opening on 7 October 2026. The building extends the Drey Hotel through the adaptive reuse of a former office building and adds 46 rooms and suites. The Drey's own site states that with Terraces the hotel will offer 96 guest rooms.

Seven terrace suites and two corner suites

Seven suites open onto private outdoor space. Two signature corner suites carry outdoor living areas with bespoke furnishings, layered greenery and skyline views. The announcement places those two suites among an oak canopy built to host gatherings of up to 100 people. Guest rooms carry eleven-foot ceilings, and the release states the existing structure shaped the layouts, so sizes and shapes vary from room to room.

James Carry Design Studio and Ink + Oro

The Village Dallas designed the building with James Carry Design Studio and Ink + Oro. Wood-forward materials, greenery and natural light run through the guest rooms and the public areas. Glass installations and trellis details sit inside the scheme. The hotel takes its name from a drey, the treetop nest built by squirrels, and the announcement ties the name to the terraces that look out over the skyline.

Jon Gray on the neighborhood

Jon Gray, managing director of The Village Dallas, ties the opening to the community around the hotel. "We wanted to create something that feels elevated but never removed from the energy of The Village," he said. "That sense of connection is what makes The Village special, and we're excited to bring it to life in a new way at Terraces at the Drey."

Kobako arrives in 2027

Kobako, a 14-seat omakase restaurant, is planned for 2027 inside the building. The Drey Hotel holds Anise across the street for cocktails and light bites. Meridian, Over Under and Buzz & Bustle trade inside The Village, and the announcement states that D Magazine recently named Meridian one of Dallas' 50 best restaurants.

Events and the district around the hotel

The property's own page markets the terraces for weddings, private dinners, milestone celebrations and executive retreats. Flexible spaces open onto the outdoor terraces, and select suites host intimate receptions. Larger occasions draw on venues across The Village hospitality district, and the page lists full district buyouts. Guests reach restaurants, fitness and wellness classes, pools and walking trails on foot. The Village Beach Club holds the poolside space, and the release lists pickleball, volleyball, chess and lawn yoga among the activities around the building.

Three room counts in the record

The Drey's combined inventory differs across published figures. The October announcement adds 46 rooms. The April 2026 launch release states that the tower would add 47 guest rooms and bring the total at The Drey to 100. The Drey's own site states that with the addition of Terraces the hotel will offer 96 guest rooms. The 46 figure holds for this opening, and the April total of 100 has not been restated.

The Hotel Online copy of the announcement carries a second disagreement. Its property note still describes Terraces as soon to open.
