WaterSmart sold four nights against a thirteen-hour floor

WaterSmart's exhibit hall ran 13 hours across Thursday and Friday inside a four-night hotel window, and the organiser closed hotel reservations on the closing day.

Thirteen hours on the floor, split nine and four

WaterSmart Innovations ran 21 to 23 October 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center. The exhibit hall opened on two of those days. Thursday 22 October ran 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., nine hours. Friday 23 October ran 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., four hours.

Thirteen floor hours across two days. Thursday carried 69.2 percent of them. Wednesday 21 October carried none. That day held registration from 7 a.m., pre-conference workshops and tours from 8 a.m., and the Students and Young Professionals Connect from 6 to 8 p.m.

Where the floor competed with the programme

The professional sessions ran inside the hall hours. Thursday’s morning block ran 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon block 1:15 to 4:45 p.m. Both sat inside the 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. floor window, which put 5 of Thursday’s 9 hours against a session.

Friday’s morning sessions ran 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. They overlapped the first 1 hour 45 minutes of the floor. Friday’s afternoon sessions started at 2 p.m., the minute the hall closed.

Across the two days, 6.75 of the 13 floor hours ran while a session block was also on. The remaining 6.25 hours carried the three food and drink functions, which ran 5 hours 15 minutes between them, plus half an hour on each day with no session and no function.

All three functions sat in the room where the floor was. Thursday lunch ran 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday’s cocktail reception ran 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. Friday’s lunch ran 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The rate ladder sold one exhibit pass

Exhibits-only registration cost $70 early and $100 regular. It carried the exposition and the exhibit hall events, and it excluded educational sessions, workshops and tours. Exhibit hall lunches cost extra.

Full-conference registration cost $595 for members and $695 for non-members on or before 21 September, then $695 and $795.

The table published one exhibits-only rate for the whole exposition. No single-day tier appears in it, so Friday’s four hours carried the same price as Thursday’s nine.

Four nights against thirteen floor hours

The organiser’s hotel link carried an arrival of 20 October and a departure of 24 October during the booking window. That is four nights, Tuesday to Saturday.

Thirteen floor hours across four nights is 3.25 hours a night. The first two nights sat before the hall opened.

An exhibitor selling to a delegate who left on Friday evening booked three nights. The fourth was a Saturday departure the organiser published and the delegate may not have needed.

What the organiser closed

The hotel and travel page now reads: Hotel reservations are now closed.

No room rate was published on any organiser page. The DoubleTree by Hilton Portland carried the block, half a mile from the hall on a 5 to 10 minute walk through the Lloyd District, with complimentary light rail passes for guests.

AWWA publishes no attendance figure. A floor plan prices against the clocks, the two-day split and the window the organiser sold.

The shape the window carried

The published window ran four nights against a two-day floor. Thursday carried nine hours and a reception that ended at the minute the hall closed. Friday carried four hours and a 2 p.m. close, with sessions running to 4:45 p.m.

An operator reading the same pattern on a future conference gets one test. Divide the floor hours by the nights the block requires. WaterSmart published 3.25 floor hours a night.
