299 rooms, two markets, one date
Field & Stream Lodge Co. named two properties on 17 September 2026. A 151-room lodge in Bend, Oregon and a 148-room lodge in Big Bear, California each carry a 2028 opening. Both projects renovate standing hotels. The platform's locations page lists Bozeman, Montana as the trading lodge, with reservations open.
Bend takes the former Shilo Inn on the Deschutes River, less than two miles from downtown Bend. Big Bear takes the former Holiday Inn Resort on Village Drive.
What a day-use operator can price
The Big Bear plan names a restaurant, meeting space, suites, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. A daytime pool pass, a day room and a meeting room all draw on those items.
The Bend release defers room offerings and amenities to an announcement closer to the debut. The brand's locations page books overnight stays, and its booking form takes arrival and departure dates, guest counts and a group code.
Two years separate the announcement from the opening. That window carries the negotiation on daytime windows, pool-pass terms and day-room rates.
The market around the rooms
The release places Bend on the Deschutes River with skiing and mountain biking at Mt. Bachelor and climbing at Smith Rock. It places Big Bear a 10-minute walk from Big Bear Lake, with the Alterra-owned Big Bear Mountain Resort holding roughly 680 skiable acres across Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and Snow Valley.
Starwood Capital Group and AJ Capital Partners founded the platform. Bend and Big Bear are the second and third lodges, and the release states plans for more locations nationally.

Bend: 151 rooms, a 2028 opening, a Deschutes River address and downtown Bend under two miles away. Big Bear: 148 rooms, a 2028 opening, a Village Drive address, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, suites, meeting space and a restaurant.
