The window the show creates
GDC Festival of Gaming runs 1-5 March 2027 at Moscone Center. The Festival Hall opens Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 6pm, in Moscone South.
That is an eight-hour daytime block in the middle of the week. A day-use room sells the same block.
The Business Hall runs Monday to Friday in Moscone West. The badge desk opens at 7:30am on Monday and closes at 3pm on Friday, at South Hall, Street Level, entered from Howard Street.
Where the daytime inventory sits
Fourteen mapped hotels sit within 400 metres of Moscone West, and seven within 400 metres of Moscone South. Both counts are straight-line distances between geocoded points on 17 October 2026.

The three dual-hall nights
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday run both halls at once. Friday runs the meeting week alone.
A day room sold on those three days serves two groups. One guest holds a Festival Hall Only pass and wants the room across the daytime window. One works the Business Hall and wants a desk between meetings.
The Business Hall Only pass sells at $125 on the Early Rate. The Festival Hall Only pass covers three days. Neither pass includes a room.
What an operator can sell now
The housing block is unpublished. The organiser's FAQ reads "Hotel blocks will open for GDC 2027 soon", and onPeak has set no rate, roster or cut-off as of 17 October 2026.
A property can sell the daytime window before it can sell the night. Set the day rate against the overnight rate for the same date, hold the room for 10am to 6pm, and publish the checkout time.
Two dates order the guest's decision. The Early Rate closes 11 December 2026 at 11:59pm PT. Pass changes close 5 February 2027.
The three dual-hall days are the ones to release first. Those dates sit inside a week the block has not priced.
