Laundris announced Laundris Assistant on 18 September 2026. The linen inventory vendor describes the release as an AI capability that answers linen inventory questions written in plain language and returns custom reports and charts.
The assistant runs inside the platform customers already use. Laundris makes the tool available to all existing customers at no additional cost as part of their subscription, per the announcement.
Laundris sells RFID-enabled tracking with AI-powered forecasting. Its own site states that linen ranks second to labour among hotel operating costs.
What an Operator Gets
The vendor lists plain-language queries as the interface. An operator types the question and the assistant returns a report or a chart.
The announcement names Leonard Fiorenza, director of housekeeping at Hotel Drover, as a user. Fiorenza credited the assistant with removing manual tracking and with helping his team control costs and prevent shortages.
A Category Forming in Six Weeks
SMARTLINEN announced Ask Debbie on 5 August 2026 through PR Newswire, six weeks before the Laundris release. SMARTLINEN describes the tool as an AI Linen Expert built for hotel housekeeping and laundry teams, drawing on its own platform data and offering a library of curated questions alongside free-text queries.
Marlon Serbin, vice president of sales at SMARTLINEN, made the same labour point the Laundris release makes. "Managers no longer need to manually count inventory or search through reports," he said.
SMARTLINEN publishes its scale in the same release: more than 250 hotel and commercial laundry locations, over 130 million textile scan events processed, and more than one million enabled textile assets monitored each month.
Two vendors shipped plain-language linen assistants inside a six-week window. Each release describes a manual reporting task moving to a typed question.
What to Verify Before Enabling It
Three checks matter before a property turns the assistant on.
Confirm that the property's existing subscription tier carries the assistant at no additional cost. That term comes from the vendor.
Confirm that the report and chart exports match the formats housekeeping and finance already circulate. Laundris states that the assistant returns custom reports and charts.
Confirm how assistant-reported par levels reconcile against the par levels recorded in the property system. The two sets of numbers sit in reach of each other, so an operator can compare them directly.
A day-use programme adds a fourth check. hotelSlots defines a day-use room as a booking of typically 6 to 8 hours and sells it at 30 to 75 percent below the nightly rate at the same hotel. A day-use slot and an overnight booking share one room and one set of par levels, so confirm the par level covers every turn the room takes on a date.
The performance claims in the announcement are the vendor's own. The announcement carries no third-party audit of time saved or over-buying prevented, so an operator weighing the tool works from Laundris' stated benefits and its own property data.
