Radisson puts AI across discovery, content and bookings
Radisson Hotel Group is placing artificial intelligence across hotel discovery, content, guest communication and bookings. Nikhil Sharma, managing director and chief operating officer for South Asia, set out the programme in an interview carried by Hospitality Biz India on 28 September 2026.
Sharma put AI-driven traffic to RH.com at more than 3% of visits and said the share is still accelerating. The group ran a content readiness audit across more than 10,700 prompts and nearly 297,000 responses, over eight AI platforms and more than 135 locations. Sharma gave those figures.
The app inside ChatGPT
Radisson and Accenture launched a Radisson Hotels app inside ChatGPT on 28 July 2026. The release carries the dateline Brussels and New York.
The @RadissonHotels app lets a traveller search Radisson properties across more than 100 countries and more than 1,000 hotels through a conversation. It returns live inventory and rates, location context, amenities, hotel details and map-based results. The traveller completes the reservation on the Radisson Hotels website.
Radisson describes the launch as a step in its move toward agentic commerce, where an AI assistant completes the booking and the group keeps the guest relationship and loyalty engagement. The two companies plan to add deeper personalisation, loyalty recognition, in-chat booking, reservation management, trip modification and an AI concierge. Radisson's corporate record lists more than 1,640 hotels in operation and under development across more than 100 countries.
The content layer under the assistant
The audit is the part of the programme a property can copy without a vendor contract. More than 10,700 prompts and nearly 297,000 responses across eight platforms measure how the brand's own facts answer the questions an assistant receives.
Radisson pairs the audit with Gemini-powered content and translation engines that personalise advertising across more than 30 languages, according to Sharma. Sharma also names semantic search, digital twins, virtual reality tours and the Meetings Dream Machine among the group's production tools.
Guest messages on WhatsApp
WhatsApp automation runs in more than 20 hotels and has handled more than 15,000 enquiries, Sharma said. A guest asks a question inside a messaging thread and receives the answer in the same thread.
The commercial case behind the launch
Accenture's Consumer Pulse Research, published with the July launch, reports that 87% of travellers are open to working with an AI-powered travel agent to find the best option. 71% of travellers said that AI would influence at least half of their hotel or airline spend over the following twelve months.
Gianni Di Fede, chief commercial officer at Radisson Hotel Group, framed the ChatGPT app as a meeting point in the planning moment. Ndidi Oteh, chief executive of Accenture Song, described agentic commerce as a change in how people discover and choose brands. Emily Weiss, Accenture's global travel lead, tied the work to content that stays accurate and current at every step.
World Tourism Day and the timing
The Hospitality Biz India article ties the programme to World Tourism Day on 27 September 2026. UN Tourism runs the 2026 edition under the theme "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism".
What the channel reads for day-use inventory
A discovery app that returns live inventory and rates reads the inventory feed the property already keeps. A pool pass, a daytime room taken as a workspace and a daytime meeting block each sell hours instead of a night.
A day-use block that stays out of that feed stays out of the assistant's answers. An operator confirms the block is bookable through the feed before counting the channel as distribution.
The Radisson article publishes no day rate, no hourly rate and no minimum stay for any property, and it reports no per-block result. The July release is silent on the same points. An operator pricing a day-use test uses the property's own numbers.
