The Base Number
USA Volleyball opened registration on 16 September 2026 at 8 a.m. Pacific for the inaugural Golden Gate Classic Girls Junior National Qualifier. The event runs 19 to 21 February 2027 at the Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco.
The organiser set the new date on a national base. The 2026 Girls Junior National Championship drew more than 1,400 participating teams.
Twenty-Four Is the Published Cap
Each Open division fills to 24 teams. A division that draws 24 or more registrations in its first 24 hours goes to a review queue. USA Volleyball ranks those entries on prior-season results: a place in the Open or USA division at a national qualifier, or a top-20-percent finish in an Open field. Registration timestamp decides the remaining places.
A division that draws fewer than 24 entries in the window accepts teams in timestamp order until it reaches 24.
Open, USA, Liberty and American divisions run at 15s, 16s and 17s. Three Open draws at the cap total 72 teams. The bid divisions send teams to the 2027 Girls 14-17s Junior National Championship, held 27 June to 5 July 2027 in Las Vegas.
Two Door Times
Morning waves enter at 7 a.m. Afternoon waves enter at 2:30 p.m., a time USA Volleyball sets so morning teams can clear the hall after their scheduled 1 p.m. game.
What That Means for Day Inventory
Dayuse lists 40 day hotels in San Francisco on 17 October 2026. Hotel Zelos San Francisco, listed in Yerba Buena, sells an 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. window at US$144 and a 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. window. The Mosser Hotel lists windows from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., from US$91.
The morning door and the 1 p.m. clearance fit inside the first window. The 2:30 p.m. door fits inside the second.
The Host Partner
USA Volleyball announced the qualifier with the San Francisco Travel Association. Anna Marie Presutti, the association's president and chief executive, said the Moscone Center sits in the heart of the city.
What Is Not Published
The organiser publishes no field size and no session grid. Its page states that the overall team count will be fluid and may change from the opening count.
The venue feed carried 174 records on 17 October 2026. It lists the Orthopaedic Research Society annual meeting from 19 to 23 February. The qualifier is not on the feed.
