Three attendance figures on one convention
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association holds its 2026 Annual Convention at the Indiana Convention Center from 19 to 21 November. The venue's event page carries a forecast of 13,500, repeats that figure three times, and runs body copy reading "approximately 13,000 attendees". ASHA's own convention footer, on every convention page, reads "approximately 15,000 attendees". The association publishes more than 2,500 sessions and nearly 400 exhibitors.
The daytime windows inside the programme
The convention's own schedule sets the hours, all Eastern. Thursday 19 November runs registration 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Opening General Session 8:30 to 10 a.m., the Exhibit Hall 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Braindates 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and education sessions 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday 20 November runs registration 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., education sessions 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Exhibit Hall 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a mid-day break in the hall from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Saturday 21 November runs registration 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., education sessions and the research symposium 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Exhibit Hall 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The exhibit hall's three windows total 20.5 hours across the run. The venue sets its own skywalk and facility clock at the event's timetable, with a lock-down at approximately 11 p.m. and a reopening at approximately 6 a.m.
The Wednesday shoulder
Wednesday 18 November carries the arrival shoulder ahead of the programme: board, committee and council meetings 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., registration 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., ticketed state association pre-convention workshops 1 to 4 p.m., a First Timers' Tour 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., receptions and special events 5 to 10 p.m., and the Researcher-Academic Town Meeting 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Two ticket formats split the stay
Full in-person registration covers all three days. A member pays $419 in the early bird window of 3 to 31 August, rising to $569 in the onsite window from 1 November to 21 November. A non-member or related professional pays $609 to $759 across the same windows.
A one-day registration carries a single day on the floor. "You must select the day you will attend (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) when you register," the registration fees page states, and continuing education credit follows that choice. The single-day ladder runs from $169 for an ASHA-certified assistant to $219 for a new professional member, a clinical fellow or a non-ASHA certified assistant, $319 for a member, and $509 for a non-member or related professional.
A separate exhibit hall-only pass costs $100 from 1 November. It covers one day and sells to members and related professionals who want the hall without the sessions. The full badge carries three days; the one-day registration and the hall-only pass each carry one.
The day behind each of those windows
The daytime inventory under those hours is the operator's planning base. Dayuse publishes an average of $87.43 for a day room in Indianapolis. Engine publishes $128 a night across 1.2M public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, with November at $122, five percent below the city average, and October at $134. The Engine figures are par rates, the cheapest public price at each search, and not negotiated rates.
The hall window the programme leaves runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Thursday's education block runs to 7 p.m. The hall-only pass and the one-day registration both sit inside those windows, and either keeps a delegate in the city through the middle of the day.
Absorption against the connected rooms
The venue footer block, repeated on every page, gives 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis and 4,700 rooms connected to the Convention Center via skywalks. The 13,500 forecast against the 4,700 figure is 2.87 delegates per connected room. Against the downtown figure it is 1.90, and the connected rooms are 66.2 percent of downtown stock. ASHA's own approximately 15,000 figure against the 4,700 rooms works out at 3.19 per connected room.
The facility guide publishes a second set on its own basis: 4,721 rooms connecting to the Center, 7,175 within a six-block radius and 4,570 committable group rooms downtown. Its nearby-amenities section states that pedestrian skywalks connect 4,717 of downtown's 7,200 total rooms.
The comparison window
The block's rate list is stamped "As of 9/10/26" and covers 27 properties on single, double, double-double, triple, quad and one-bedroom-suite columns. Singles run from $169 at Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown and Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown to $300 at Conrad Indianapolis, across 15 distinct prices, with a $228 median and a $131 spread that equals 77.5 percent of the lowest rate. The list carries no cut-off date. Maritz Global Events is the only official housing provider, and rates are available only through ASHA's reservation service, with no change fees and no prepayment at booking.
This read prices against the block list at its 10 September stamp and the programme dates of 19 to 21 November. No per-night schedule is published, so a property's Friday night carries the same figure as its two weeknights.
The calendar around the block
The venue's own event feed returns eight bookings between 1 November and 5 December 2026: NSTA 4-7 November at 4,000; the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo 6 November at 20,000; Midwest Healthcare Engineering 8-10 November at 600; the IU Health Leadership Development Institute 10 November at 2,200; PASIC 11-14 November at 5,200; ASHA 19-21 November at 13,500; the Economic Club of Indiana luncheon 2 December at 300; and the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade Ball 5 December at 250. Nothing falls between 15 and 18 November, and the next Center booking after ASHA is 2 December.
