Nine published hours, one hotel night
Oregon's Arts and Culture Awards and Summit takes the Oregon Convention Center on Tuesday 1 December and Wednesday 2 December 2026. The awards celebration runs 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The summit runs 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The two days carry nine hours of programmed time.
A delegate from outside Portland books the night of Tuesday 1 December. Twelve and a half hours separate the 8:30 p.m. close from the 9:00 a.m. start.
Two audiences land in that gap. A guest who comes for the awards dinner needs the Tuesday night. A guest who comes for the Wednesday summit needs the same Tuesday night. One date carries both cohorts.
The week around the date
The venue lists eight events for December 2026, eight for November 2026 and thirteen for January 2027. Three of the December bookings take the Portland Ballroom inside the first week. The summit holds it on 1 and 2 December, the Marquis, Consonus and AgeRight employee holiday party takes it on Friday 4 December, and the Oregon Business Plan Leadership Summit takes it on Monday 7 December.
The weekend traffic goes to the halls. The American Northwest Portland Nationals runs in Hall D on 5 and 6 December, and Crafty Wonderland runs in Hall D from 11 to 13 December. No booking sits on 3, 8 or 9 December.
Three further bookings close the month. The IREM Forecast Breakfast holds Oregon Ballroom 202, 203 and 204 on 10 December. The Scan Fair takes Halls A and A1 on 12 and 13 December. A Native American New Years Eve Pow Wow follows in the same halls on 31 December and 1 January.
What the fee schedule says about the room
Four fees are published on the registration form. Both days cost $129 a person, the awards dinner alone $89, the summit alone $69, and a table of eight for the dinner $712.
No organiser page carries a room rate, a room block or a cut-off date. The registration form asks for a name, an organisation, a title, a mobile number, dietary needs, accessibility needs and one breakout choice. It carries no lodging field. A property prices the Tuesday night against a delegate whose whole two-day fee is $129.
The cancellation policy gives the form its second date. Fees are non-refundable, and a registration can move to another person by written notice until 23 November 2026. A replacement delegate can still fill a Tuesday room after the 20 November registration close.
The garage and the overnight ban
The venue's underground garage holds 800 spaces. Entry runs from NE Lloyd Blvd on level P1 or NE First Avenue on P2, with clearance of 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. daily and takes cards and touchless payment at the booth.
The overnight prohibition reaches a hotel desk. A delegate who drives to the Tuesday dinner cannot leave the car in the venue garage for the night. The room's own parking space becomes the parking decision, and the property's rate card carries it.
A driver who parks on both days pays two event-day entries. The venue posts a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry on event days, which puts two entries at $30 to $50 across the stay.
No delegate count is published
Neither the venue page nor the organiser publishes an attendance figure for either day. The 800 spaces cannot be matched to a delegate count, and no room pickup can be sized from the published record. The venue states that spaces run on a first-come, first-served basis, and its parking page counts 566 metered spaces within three blocks of the building.
Registration closes 20 November
Registration closes Friday 20 November 2026. That date sits 11 days before the Tuesday night. A revenue manager who holds 1 December inventory has a published date to check pickup against, and a fee schedule that fixes each guest's own spend on the event.
What the desk can say at 8:30 p.m.
The dinner clears at 8:30 p.m. The summit opens at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. No page from the organiser or the venue publishes a checkout clock, so the property's own policy sets the morning. A guest with one night and a 9:00 a.m. start checks out before the summit opens.
The venue's entrances sit on NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and NE Holladay Street. TriMet's MAX light rail stops 300 times a day at the stop nearest the front door, and the Portland Streetcar A Loop arrives at NE MLK and Hoyt every 15 minutes. A guest who arrives by rail carries no parking charge.
Portland International Airport sits eight miles from the building. A property setting a one-night rate for 1 December works against three published facts. The delegate has paid $129 for the programme. The venue calendar fills the Portland Ballroom three times in the first week of the month. The garage cannot hold a car overnight.
