323 Coastal NSW Rooms From Late 2029

IHG and Urban Property Group add 323 rooms in Newcastle and Gosford from late 2029. Neither hotel publishes a rate for daytime or hourly use.

Two Coastal Markets Take 323 Rooms

IHG Hotels & Resorts published the two signings on 16 September 2026 from Sydney. Crowne Plaza Newcastle carries 171 rooms and an expected opening in late 2029. Hotel Indigo Gosford carries 152 rooms and an expected opening in mid-2030.

Both hotels sit inside mixed-use developments that Urban Property Group is building. The two markets hold a company meetings floor and a rooftop pool between them, and neither publishes a daytime rate.

The Newcastle Inventory

Crowne Plaza Newcastle holds more than 550 sqm of Meetings & Events space, including a 425 sqm ballroom. The amenity list adds all-day dining, a lobby bar, a pool and landscaped public spaces.

The floor sits inside a 43-storey tower with 219 residential apartments beside the 171 rooms, at 10 Dangar Street, Wickham, per Urban's project page. The release places the tower adjacent to Newcastle Interchange. The state planner has sought a reduction of the tower to 38 storeys, or 134 metres, and the environmental impact statement proposes 250 ballroom patrons with operating hours from 7 a.m. to midnight.

The Gosford Inventory

Hotel Indigo Gosford's published list is a neighbourhood café and bar, a rooftop pool and wellness facilities, with views across Brisbane Water. Urban's The Waterfront page carries the surrounding precinct: 233 apartments, a 150-key hotel and 2,000 sqm of retail across two towers of 36 and 42 storeys at 26-30 Mann Street.

The Gosford room count differs across two first-party pages. The release body gives 152. The release's About URBAN block and Urban's project page give the hotel 150 keys.

The precinct's first stage reached its occupation certificate with 134 apartments at 36 Baker Street, 25 storeys, a June 2024 commencement and completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.

What a Day-Use Desk Holds

Neither hotel publishes a day-use rate, an hourly window, a minimum-stay term or a nightly rate. The record holds room counts, one meetings floor, a pool and two opening windows.

Late 2029 is the earlier window, and it is the first point at which either hotel can price its own daytime inventory. A day-use operator watching Newcastle and the Central Coast has a facility list and a date, and no price basis ahead of it.

The Distribution Record

The release names no management company for either hotel and no ownership split beyond the IHG and Urban partnership. IHG's company block gives the group 21 brands, IHG One Rewards with more than 160 million members, more than one million rooms across 7,000 hotels in over 100 countries, and a development pipeline of a further 2,400 properties.

Crowne Plaza Parramatta, signed in 2025 and published on 27 October 2025, holds 217 rooms with a 2029 opening. Urban's project page places it in a mixed-use precinct at 2 Fitzwilliam Street with 703 apartments. None of the three hotels carries a published rate.
