The late-September midweek window
Two talent-development conferences occupy the Indiana Convention Center across the same three days, Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October 2026. The venue forecasts 1,000 attendees for ATD Core4 and 1,000 for ATD OrgDev. Both organisers publish the same window.
The venue's booking calendar lists 12 events between 22 September and 15 October. Three share 29 September to 1 October: Core4, OrgDev and the MAPP Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference in Wabash Ballrooms 1-3 with a forecast of 650. The Do it Best Corp. Fall Market runs 25 to 28 September with a forecast of 12,000.
The daytime schedule
OrgDev's published grid runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Delegates sit in the building through the middle of the day on the first two days.
Thursday releases the building at 12:30 p.m. Ask each downtown property which of the three days holds the softest daytime inventory before you set a day rate.
What the three days price against
Core4 and OrgDev share one block. Both hotel pages carry the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis at 1 S Capitol Ave and The Westin Indianapolis at 241 W Washington Street at $195 a night plus taxes and fees, available through 3 September 2026. Engine's Indianapolis curve gives the daytime seller a benchmark. The city averages $128 a night across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, on par rates. September averages $117, nine percent below the city average, and October averages $134. The monthly range runs from $107 in February to $158 in May.
The same study ranks Indianapolis 39 of 50 markets and puts the city average 14 percent below the $148 median of those markets.
The inventory under it
Downtown Indianapolis holds 7,100 hotel rooms, and 4,700 of them connect to the centre by skywalk. More than 200 restaurants sit within walking distance, and the airport sits 15 minutes from the building.
The two ATD forecasts equal 28.2 percent of the downtown room count. Add the MAPP forecast and the three events equal 37.3 percent.
What resets the next window
The Signia by Hilton Indianapolis opens in December 2026 with 803 rooms and 90,000 square feet of meeting space. The convention center expansion carries 143,500 square feet and a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. The expansion page states the centre will host two simultaneous citywide conventions.
Both changes land before the same week next year. The room count and the daytime window reset with the new tower.
