Six Halls, 72 Hours, Two Weekends Before Thanksgiving
Kumoricon holds Halls A, A1, B, C, D and E at the Oregon Convention Center from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026. The venue's listing carries the run as "November 13 to 15" with that six-hall line under the title.
The convention closes 11 days before Thanksgiving on 26 November. The venue fills the weekend between them: Major League Table Tennis holds Hall A from 20 to 22 November, and the Hoffman Annual Meeting and Dinner holds the Oregon Ballroom on 20 and 21 November.
That second weekend gives a property an option. A hotel that cannot place a Kumoricon guest on 13 November can place that guest on 20 November on the same stretch of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
The venue's November calendar carries nine events. Kumoricon is the largest of them by hall count, ahead of the Oddities & Curiosities Expo on Halls C, D and E from 7 to 8 November.
11,954 Paid Members, Two Editions Old
The organiser publishes one headcount: paid, unique members for the 2024 edition were 11,954, with 626 staff. That is 19.1 paid members per staff member.
No 2025 count and no 2026 forecast appear on the page. The venue's own description reads "back for its biggest year yet" and carries no figure behind the claim. A room-night plan for this run rests on a count two editions old.
The count measures badges sold. The staff line sits beside it as a separate number, and the hotels page states that staff booking details and the staff rate will be announced in the near future.
Two Deadlines, Seventeen Days Apart
Room blocks closed on 21 October 2026. Pre-registration closes on 7 November 2026. Seventeen days separate the two.
This reading runs on 26 October, five days past the block deadline and 12 days before the badge deadline.
The badge ladder ends at the Ghost tier, open through 7 November at $95 for ages 13 and over and $35 for ages 6 to 12. The door charges $100 and $35. The last online rung saves $5, or 5 percent, on an adult badge. Doors open six days after that rung closes.
The hotels page tells readers not to wait because blocks fill first. That advice now reaches only rooms returned through cancellations.
Which Block Runs Dry First
No property in the set publishes a remaining-room count. The hotels page publishes two substitutes. A room type missing from a search has sold out in that block. A search that returns nothing means at least one night in the range is gone.
The ladder reads $185 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah St, 0.4 miles out; $199 at Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Ave, 0.1 miles; $214 at Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco St, 0.2 miles; $235 at Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay St, 0.1 miles.
Our call is the DoubleTree block. The spread from $185 to $235 is $50, or 27.03 percent of the entry rate, against a 0.3-mile spread in distance. The $185 rung also sits at MAX Blue Line stops served every 15 minutes, which takes the walk out of the trade-off.
The Hyatt sits at the other end of the ladder. It faces the convention center across Holladay Street on the Blue, Red and Green lines and carries the top rate.
The ladder and the terms carry that call. No property in the set publishes an availability count.
What the Tax Does to the Order
Portland occupancy taxes are 16.5 percent on the organiser's wording, subject to change, and the published rates exclude taxes and fees.
Tax widens the gap between the ends and leaves the order intact. The $185 night reaches $215.53 and the $235 night reaches $273.78. The taxed gap is $58.25 against the $50 bare gap.
Where the Demand Leaves the Block
Rooms return to a block through cancellations up to the cutoff date. That date has passed, so returned rooms no longer reappear at the block rate.
The organiser cannot view or change an individual reservation. Every booking, change and cancellation runs through the property, which puts pickup at four front desks in place of a housing desk.
One segment of the demand carries no price. The 2024 crew numbered 626 people, and the crew rate is unpublished.
