What the organiser counts
The parade's history page puts the audience at over three million spectators and television viewers across the U.S., Canada and Asia. ABC 7 and KTSF Channel 26 carry the broadcast. The same page dates the Chinese Chamber of Commerce's direction of the parade to 1958, the first televised broadcast to 1987 on KTVU Channel 2, and a 2024 six-year agreement that makes ABC7 Bay Area the exclusive broadcast home.
That figure counts people on the street and people watching a broadcast across three regions. The organiser publishes no gate count for the parade and no attendance figure for either street fair. A revenue desk looking for a conversion denominator will not find one on the site.
The date the calendar loads
The 2027 programme runs from Saturday 30 January to Sunday 14 March, 44 days. The organiser's save-the-dates card carries eight dated items. The Flower Market Fair takes 30 and 31 January. Zodiac on Parade runs from 31 January to 14 March. The Opening Ceremony and Choy Sun Doe Day take Saturday 6 February. The Basketball Jamboree takes Saturday 13 February. The Miss Chinatown USA Pageant and Coronation Ball take Friday 19 February. The parade takes Saturday 20 February. The Community Street Fair takes 20 and 21 February. The Chinatown YMCA Run takes Sunday 7 March.
Six of the season's seven weekends carry a dated item. The weekend of 19 to 21 February carries three of them: the ball on Friday, the parade and the fair's first day on Saturday, and the fair's second day on Sunday.
The paid seat, priced
Admission is free. Standing behind the barricades anywhere on the 1.3-mile route costs nothing. Paid seating runs through Eventeny in four bleacher sections: A on Kearny Street between Washington and Jackson, B on Kearny Street between California and Sacramento, C on Post Street between Grant and Kearny, and E on Geary Street between Stockton and Powell.
The ticket page prices the rungs. B and C cost $53.46 including fees on a $50 face. A1 costs $74.72 on $70. E3 costs $85.35 on $80. The four accessible rungs carry the same prices. Sales close at 3:00 p.m. on 20 February. Each rung is non-refundable, non-cancellable and non-transferable after purchase. No section publishes a seat count.
The clock runs tight against the ticket. Holders check in at their section by 4:00 p.m. SFPD starts closing streets around 3:00 p.m. The parade steps off at 5:15 p.m. from Second and Market and runs about two and a half hours.
What the date is worth per room night
The American Hotel and Lodging Association and the California Hotel and Lodging Association released an Oxford Economics study on 25 June 2026. It puts 2025 hotel impact in San Francisco at more than $12 billion, with about $900 in citywide spending per room night, nearly 50,000 jobs, $2 billion in taxes and $8 billion in guest spending.
Engine puts the San Francisco average at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. It defines those as par rates, the cheapest publicly available price at each search. Its February line reads $166, one percent above the average. March reads $197, 19 percent above. December reads $129, 22 percent below. At $166, each dollar of room rate carries $5.42 of the $900 citywide figure.
The day-room shelf on the same date
Dayuse's San Francisco list, read on 17 October 2026, carries 20 day-room cards. Nine sit inside the city, from $91 at The Mosser Hotel in Yerba Buena to $159 at Taj Campton Place in Union Square, on a nine-card mean of $128. Hilton San Francisco Financial District, labelled Chinatown, reads $116 against a $299 nightly figure.
Those cards price the shelf, not the parade Saturday. A property that prices a day room for 20 February sets the window against the 3 p.m. closure and the roughly 7:45 p.m. finish. A six-hour window opened at 2 p.m. ends at 8 p.m. and covers both.
A day room at the $128 mean returns 77 percent of February's $166 par rate.
The booking that takes the rooms
The Moscone event feed dates the Orthopaedic Research Society 2027 Annual Meeting at Moscone West from 19 to 23 February. Its second day is parade day. Its exhibitor move-in runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday 19 February.
The same feed closes the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium on 13 February and opens SPIE Photonics West on 30 January. Each date lands on a dated festival item.
What the desk does with it
Four published inputs sit on the table. The bleacher ladder runs $53.46 to $85.35 on a date with no published seat count. A five-day Moscone West booking covers the parade weekend. February par rates read $166 against a $165 city average. The day-room shelf reads $128 on a nine-card mean.
The calendar spreads demand across six weekends. A rate plan built on 20 February covers one of eight dated items. The 7 March run falls inside March's $197 line, and the Zodiac installation runs to 14 March.
