Calistoga Spa Hot Springs reports 50% online check-in after Mews move

Calistoga Spa Hot Springs runs Mews PMS and Mews RMS after more than two decades on one system, and reports that around half its arriving guests check in online.

What the property reports

Calistoga Spa Hot Springs moved to Mews after more than two decades on one property system. Mews published the release on 17 September 2026 from Dallas. The resort runs Mews PMS alongside Mews RMS. Flexkeeping, a Mews company, is rolling out for housekeeping. Mews Guest Messaging is pending.

Around 50% of arriving guests check in online on a typical day. The release attributes that figure to the property and its vendor. Mews ties the rate to a shorter front desk queue, and it says new arrivals reach the pools sooner.

The pre-arrival order carries a pool pass

Guests can order amenities before they arrive. The release names a welcome bottle of wine and an extended pool pass. Both are bought inside the same flow that completes the online check-in.

An operator who sells daytime pool or spa access can put the pass in that order. The guest arrives with the pass already booked and the desk step already done.

On-site onboarding

General Manager Mike Lennon brought the Mews onboarding team to the resort. Managers, front desk agents and housekeeping staff trained in person. Self-paced Mews University modules ran beside those sessions, and the vendor's team adjusted configurations on the spot.

"It's an additional cost, but it was well worth it," Lennon said.

Michael Coscetta, President of Mews, said the platform is built so operators can start on their own. He described the decision to bring the team on site as the property's own.

What the release leaves open

The earlier system stays unnamed. Mews calls it "another platform" in the text of the release. Hospitality Net republished the announcement on 18 September 2026.

The release carries no date for the Flexkeeping rollout and no date for Guest Messaging. It publishes no revenue-per-available-room figure, no direct-booking share and no count of staff hours. Integration with door locks, payment terminals and point-of-sale systems does not appear in the text.

The property

Calistoga Spa Hot Springs is an independent resort in downtown Calistoga, in California's Napa Valley. It has 57 guest rooms, a fitness centre and four outdoor geothermal mineral pools. The spa runs volcanic ash mud baths. The same ownership group has operated the resort since the 1960s, and the release describes multi-night stays as the booking pattern.

The vendor

Mews reports 15,000 customers across 85 countries. Hotel Tech Report named it Best PMS for 2024, 2025 and 2026 and Best POS for 2026. The platform spans property management, point-of-sale, revenue management, housekeeping and payments.
