Marriott Opens Its First City Express Hotel in India on NH-58

Marriott opened the 56-room City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway on NH-58, the City Express brand's first hotel in India and South Asia.

City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway has opened in Rajasthan. Marriott International announced the opening on 12 October 2026 in a release datelined New Delhi, and the Indian trade carried it the same week.

The hotel is the City Express by Marriott brand's first in India and its first in South Asia.

Fifty-Six Rooms on NH-58

The hotel holds 56 rooms. The building stands on the Udaipur and Nathdwara Highway, numbered NH-58. Marriott frames the site as a base for travellers visiting Nathdwara, which it calls one of Rajasthan's most revered pilgrimage destinations, and for travellers working through Udaipur and the surrounding region.

Marriott publishes two distances. The hotel sits approximately 35 kilometres from Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport and 30 kilometres from Udaipur Railway Station. Marriott places the City Palace, the city's lakes, Eklingji, Delwara and Haldighati within reach of guests.

Rooms, Dining and Wellness

Guestrooms carry complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, dedicated workspaces, LED televisions, mini refrigerators, electronic safes and USB charging ports. Marriott describes the specification around comfort and function, with space for guests to work or to unwind.

Dining runs through a single all-day dining restaurant. Breakfast is an expanded service with local specialities beside international dishes. Wellness runs through a fitness centre fitted with cardio and strength-training equipment.

Cristiano Rinaldi on the India Market

"India represents an important growth market for Marriott International, and the debut of City Express by Marriott further broadens the range of travel experiences we offer across the country," said Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International.

Rinaldi said the brand answers traveller demand for quality, simplicity and value, and that Marriott will expand the brand across the region.

Abhishek Jha and the Property Record

"As the first City Express by Marriott in India, we are proud to introduce a hotel experience built around what modern travelers value most: quality they can rely on, comfort without complexity and genuine hospitality," said Abhishek Jha, General Manager of the property.

Jha said the Udaipur launch adds weight to the milestone and that the team looks forward to welcoming guests.

The hotel participates in Marriott Bonvoy. Members can earn and redeem points at the property and at other hotels across the portfolio.

The Brand Family Behind City Express

Marriott's brand note places City Express by Marriott alongside City Express Plus by Marriott, City Express Suites by Marriott, City Express Junior by Marriott and City Centro by Marriott. The same note counts around 160 City Express by Marriott properties across seven countries.

Marriott opened City Express by Marriott Shin-Imamiya and City Express by Marriott Osaka Namba South in Japan on 7 May 2026. The two hotels hold 243 rooms between them, and they took the brand's Asia Pacific debut under a franchise agreement with Pacifica Hotels. The Udaipur hotel covers India and South Asia.

Marriott's global portfolio carries more than 30 hotel brands.

Udaipur and the Wider Rajasthan Stock

Marriott's earlier Udaipur property is the 226-room Udaipur Marriott Hotel, which opened 15 April 2025 under the Marriott Hotels brand.

The Terms Marriott Does Not Publish

Marriott publishes no room rate for the hotel, no owner or developer name, and no development cost. The release gives no opening date beyond its own announcement line. It names no operating company for the property and states no construction start.

The hotel's published booking address is cityexpressbymarriottudaipur.com.
