Treasure Island Fills Its Homes Before Its Hotel Rooms

Isle House reports 95 percent leased and The Bristol 70 percent sold on Treasure Island, while the ferry terminal upgrade reads Fall 2026 for completion and 500 entitled hotel rooms stay unbuilt.

The last piece of the corner

The Treasure Island Ferry Terminal Enhancements Project builds transit shelters and public restrooms at the southwest corner of the island, where the causeway meets Yerba Buena Island. The ferry terminal and the public plaza already stand there.

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority's project page now reads Fall 2026 for completion and describes the work in the past tense. The June capture of that page read Summer 2026. No completion notice has been published since.

The homes arrived first

The island's leasing page reports Isle House at 95 percent leased and The Bristol at 70 percent sold. 490 Avenue of the Palms reads now leasing and move-in ready. Hawkins reads contact for availability, with no occupancy figure published.

The residential program plans more than 2,000 below-market homes. Star View Court opened 138 apartments, and a 105-unit veterans rental sits inside the same program.

The rooms that are entitled and unbuilt

The redevelopment entitlement allows up to 500 hotel rooms across Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island. No hotel operates on either island. The island's venue directory lists nine featured venues and no lodging.

A group that books a function on the island books its rooms on the mainland.

The ceiling on a day's arrivals

The ferry runs seven days a week from Gate B at the San Francisco Ferry Building. Fourteen weekday departures run in each direction. Island departures begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. The last Gate B boat leaves at 8:20 p.m. and lands at 8:28 p.m.

A ride costs $5 and a round trip $10. Children under five ride free. The gate takes cash or a card, and Clipper is not accepted. Six bicycles fit per trip, first come, first served. Muni route 25 runs to the Salesforce Transit Center every 20 minutes.

The crossing takes about eight minutes. The operator publishes that figure on its ferry page and repeats it in its FAQ.

What the arrival window sets

Shelters and restrooms serve the arrival, and the timetable sets the evening. A hotel on the island would price a room against a first boat at 7:50 a.m. and a last boat at 8:20 p.m.

Three items would move the read. A completion notice closes the schedule. A ridership count sizes the flow. A hotel announcement turns 500 entitled rooms into a pipeline.
